Threshold are one of BritainÂ´s most renowned progressive metal bands, emerging from Surrey in the late 1980s and steadily evolving into a defining force within the genre. Formed in 1988, the group began as a collective of young musicians inspired by the technicality of progressive rock and the power of heavy metal. Their early days were dominated by covers of bands such as Ratt and Testament, but it wasnÂ´t long before they shifted their focus toward original material, laying the foundations for a sound that would become unmistakably their own.
